Edition 14
Hello folks,We are getting really excited by our “Curitiba in English”.
We have been honoured with gentle raise, subscription requests and offers of collaboration. We want to encourage people of goodwill to join our project, help us open a channel of communication and encourage the approximation of our Brazilian community to the world.
There’s a lot to learn. There’s a lot to teach the world also.
Human beings are equal everywhere. Customs, behaviour, religion, culture, language, skin colour, experiences and economical power make a difference. But emotion; eye-to-eye enquiries; smiling faces; friendship; good manners; and feelings of love and kindness can overcome any difficult situation.
The other day I read an article written by an American collaborator of ours, Mr. Michael Rubin, who is amazed by some of the attitudes, concepts and behaviour of our society.
I loved reading it.
I was grateful and thanked him and I hope he goes on writing and expressing his thoughts about us. Our English students are not used to learning what other people think of us. All we usually think is that the world thinks Brazil is the land of Carnival and football.
Let’s show the world what we really think. Show the world who we really are.
Show them we have got good reasons to be proud of the Brazilian way of life.
We live in peace, we do not spare kisses and hugs, we give a friendly smile, we love football, samba and rock and roll, and our women are gorgeous!!!!
Cheers,
Nelson G. Santos
